CHARACTER

Perfect melange.

With a width of just under 18 cm and a height of around 110 cm, the AYERS Four Plus high-end floorstanding speaker looks very elegant and slim, especially in rooms with higher ceilings. Its two woofers are unexpectedly gripping and provide a powerful, accurate and dust-dry low frequency response. You always have the feeling of having a significantly larger speaker in front of you. As with all models of the AYERS series, the placement of the Four is also uncomplicated close to the wall.

Another highlight of this slim floorstanding speaker is the high-end silk midrange driver, which gives voices and solo instruments an extremely nimble, airy and dynamic appearance - pure emotion. The music detaches perfectly from the loudspeaker. The spatial situation when the music is played becomes "visible" with your eyes closed, as if you were there live. Air passing the mouthpiece of the trumpet. The treading of the pedals on the grand piano, the tapping of the guitarist's foot in time with the music. Everything is there, even if you only hear it quietly.

The crowning glory is the small neodymium tweeter in the high-end layout, which reproduces the upper octaves sharply, but never shrill or pointed. Also due to its structural proximity, it harmonizes perfectly with the midrange driver. Cymbals, triangle or high harmonics of a violin pearl vividly into the room. Hours of enjoyment on the Four lie before you and just fly by. Simply fascinating.

Look behind the scenes.

With the AYERS Four Plus as a 3-way speaker, we have brought back to life the excellent sound of silk midrange domes, which is unmatched.

The Four reproduces the low bass with two 15 cm high-end long excursion woofers, whose membrane is made of glass fiber reinforced paper as standard. In combination with the elaborate layout of the crossover, a low frequency response of 32 Hz is achieved. An impressive value for a speaker of this size and price range. The cabinet is ventilated by a bass reflex port on the back. Flow-optimized and generously dimensioned, the low bass is radiated without compression.

The 55 mm high-end silk midrange dome takes over from 600 Hz and subsequently avoids sound bundling of the woofers. It "sees" the room acoustically completely and creates acoustic holography in the transmission range up to 3,600 Hz. Its sound image is uniquely airy and transparent. It is effectively filtered at 18 dB and thus simply shows itself from its best side.

At around 3,600 Hz, our 22 mm silk dome tweeter with neodymium drive takes over the signal. Since it is separated much higher, a reduced diameter is the better choice in this layout. Crystal clear, the dome puts the high-frequency range into the room, authentic and nimble, since we do without the use of braking ferrofluid as standard. The goal of a wide dispersion pattern is achieved here, so that you perceive a spatial sound image even outside the ideal listening position.

Like all crossovers of the AYERS series, the Four Plus was developed computer-aided with a real data simulation and optimized with regard to linearity, phase addition, distortion behavior of the drivers and the sound image typical for INKLANG. 

With vibration-free, baked coils, reduced tolerance values and the new, audiophile Z-Cap capacitors, we have once again improved the quality of the AYERS crossovers. More precision, details, fine dynamics and spatiality is the result for you.

The Four Plus keeps a separate, airtight chamber for the crossover, in which the components are free from any pressure change of the active housing chamber and are therefore not excited to vibrate.
